When it comes to bathroom remodeling, every detail matters – from the placement of the shower mixer to the choice of tile finish. At JackStone Remodeling, we recently completed a shower renovation project that perfectly combines practicality, durability, and a modern aesthetic.

Smart design for everyday comfort
One of the main goals in this project was to improve the user experience. We strategically positioned the shower mixer on the right-hand side, close to the entry, and installed the rainfall shower head on the opposite wall. This allows the water to heat up without the risk of getting wet – a small but significant change for everyday comfort.
Solid construction for long-term durability
We began by installing new partition walls and using Durock® cement boards in the wet zone to create a moisture-resistant and stable base for the tiles. Under the tile layer, we added an 8 mm Peel & Stick Crack Isolation membrane, offering double protection against cracks and water infiltration. For additional waterproofing, we applied RedGard® liquid membrane to the shower walls.
Precision and quality in every step
From creating precise slopes in the shower floor to installing the decorative glass tile feature wall, every stage required careful attention. Glass tiles, while visually stunning, are delicate and demand skilled cutting and handling. Our team used a professional tile leveling system to ensure perfectly straight lines and a premium finish.

The final look
The result is a stylish, safe, and functional shower space. Matte floor tiles contrast beautifully with the reflective glass accents, while the double waterproofing system ensures long-term reliability. The grout lines are clean and even, and every detail – from the silicone in the corners to the alignment of tiles – is executed with precision.
Maintenance tips from the JackStone team
• Choose epoxy or flexible cement grout in a light gray tone for durability.
• Use sanitary silicone in corners and at material transitions.
• After grouting, apply a sealant to protect grout lines in the wet zone.
• For glass tiles, use a soft cloth and avoid harsh cleaning chemicals.
