Tile Installation
Bathroom floors, shower walls, niches, and tile feature walls with careful surface preparation, layout, and finish details.
Tile installation
The layout starts before the first tile.
JackStone installs tile for bathroom floors, shower walls, recessed niches, and interior feature walls. Our documented work includes a Deerfield master bathroom, a Chicago high-rise bathroom, and a Chicago powder room with a green tiled vanity wall.
The room, tile dimensions, pattern, edges, and adjoining surfaces need to work together. Before installation, we review the substrate and plan the layout around corners, fixtures, niches, and transitions.
- Surface preparation and substrate review
- Tile layout, cuts, edges, and transitions
- Wet-area waterproofing coordinated with the shower assembly
- Installation, grout, and finish details
Choosing the scope
A tile finish depends on what supports it.
Replacing visible tile and rebuilding a shower are different scopes. Existing substrate conditions, water damage, changes to plumbing, and the selected tile can affect the work required. We discuss those conditions before defining the installation scope.
For wet areas, tile and grout are only the finish layer. Preparation and waterproofing must be coordinated with corners, penetrations, the drain, and the installation requirements of the selected system.
Your project
Start with the room and the location.
Send JackStone your town, photographs of the existing area, approximate dimensions, and any tile selections or designer drawings. Tell us whether the work is part of a bathroom renovation or a focused tile project so we can review the scope with you.
We review projects in Boulder Ridge and Lake in the Hills, Barrington, and the North Shore. Selected Lake Geneva, Wisconsin projects are considered individually for scope, schedule, travel logistics, and trade coordination. The projects shown below retain their actual Illinois locations.
Common questions
Useful answers before the first walkthrough.
- Can I ask about tile work without a complete bathroom remodel?
- Yes. Send photographs, dimensions, your location, and the intended tile area. We will review whether a focused tile scope is suitable and what preparation it requires.
- Can you work from a designer’s tile plan?
- Share the drawings, tile sizes, pattern, and product selections. We review how those details fit the actual room, including edges, niches, fixtures, and adjoining finishes.
- What affects the cost of tile installation?
- Area, tile size and pattern, substrate condition, demolition, waterproofing, access, and finish details all affect the scope. Photographs and measurements help us prepare an initial review; concealed conditions may need on-site verification.
- Where can I see examples of your tile work?
- The related projects below show actual work in Deerfield and Chicago, including preparation, installation stages, and finished details.
Serving Chicago, North Shore, Lake Forest, Highland Park, Glencoe, Wilmette, Glenview, Barrington, Boulder Ridge and Lake in the Hills, Algonquin, and Huntley. Selected projects in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin are reviewed for scope and logistics.
