Deck Building

Outdoor decks planned around your home, access, layout, materials, and the conditions of the site.

Outdoor living

A deck should fit the way you use the home.

JackStone builds decks as part of its exterior construction offer. Start with how you want to use the space: outdoor meals, a place to sit, a connection to the yard, or a more practical route from the house.

Size is only one decision. Door locations, height changes, circulation, stairs, railings, and the relationship to the yard all influence the plan.

  • New deck scope and site review
  • Layout, access, stairs, and railing planning
  • Decking and finish selections
  • Construction sequence and protection of adjacent areas

Before construction

Understand the site before choosing the finish.

We review the proposed location and existing conditions before defining the build. The scope needs to address support, connections, drainage around the work, and access for materials.

When replacing an existing deck, photographs alone cannot establish whether its structure can be reused. Existing support and connections need assessment. Required approvals and any design or engineering needs are identified for the particular project before construction.

Your starting point

Send the house, the yard, and your idea.

Share your town, photographs from the house and yard, approximate dimensions, and any inspiration or drawings. Include whether this is a new deck or a replacement, and whether you have a preferred decking material.

We discuss material options, maintenance expectations, and the full scope before preparing an estimate. Selected Lake Geneva projects are reviewed for travel, schedule, and project logistics.

Common questions

Useful answers before the first walkthrough.

Do you build decks as a standalone project?
Yes. You can contact JackStone about a deck without undertaking an interior renovation. Send the site photographs, location, and approximate scope.
Can you replace an existing deck?
We can review a replacement project. The condition of the existing structure and connections determines what can be retained and what needs to be rebuilt.
Do I need to select materials first?
No. Bring your preferences if you have them. Material choice, maintenance expectations, layout, and budget can be reviewed together before the final scope is agreed.
